Weeks have bled into one another since I lost my dearest Priya in that terrible car accident. Everyone keeps asking if I'm "theek hai", waiting for the tears to flow freely. But there's a strange dryness in my eyes, a hollowness in my chest. It's not that I don't miss her – the quiet in our usual chat window feels like a scream. I just feel…numb. Is this wrong? In our culture, grief is often expressed outwardly, with wailing and tears. But mine is a silent ocean, threatening to drown me from within.

Hi I am a Psychologist, here to help! I can completely understand that this is a very difficult situation for you. Everyone has different coping and grieving styles - some express it, some like to keep it within themselves. It's always better to give yourself the time and space to grieve. Don't try to get over with it in a hurry when you are not ready. While trying to grieve with it silently, try to talk to your friends/family/closed ones. Support is an essential part of coming out of grief and moving forward in life with acceptance. You can connect with me during my live session - I will be happy to help in whatever way possible :)
